Reading the Map

First make sure you understand where the correct maps can be found. The maps in the scenario description are no more than samples of what a scenario will look like. All terrain in these maps is correctly placed but other items such as terrain properties (cities, farms, factories, airports, ...) and the units themselves will not necessarily match those in your scenario. (If they did, you would be privy to all enemy unit deployments and vice-versa). The maps showing the correct and current information for all game items and terrain can be found in your personal directory and will be updated after every turn.

After each turn (and prior to turn 1) your personal directory will contain the following intelligence documents:

  • a map with all alliance units and those enemy units that might be visible

  • a turn report with all activities from the previous turn (except of course prior to turn 1)

  • an updated list of all your units including strength, armor, ...

  • A list of all terrain properties with supply values, ownership, economic values, ...

  • a status report with economic points, supply shortages, ...

The map will contain a coordinate system in order for you to match all other data to the units and properties on the map.

Note: The map in the "Panama Gambit" scenario description is a good example for what your tactical maps will look like during a game. Just remember to access the maps in your personal directory in order to have all the correct and updated information.
