Range Weapons
"Range Weapon" is the attribute assigned to units
(or to be more exact: assigned to the weapons of some units)
denoting the fact that these units do not move during a fire or
attack order but can none the less suffer damage during these
attacks.
A good example for a range weapon is the "B-52
Stratofortress" in the "Panama" scenario.
Although the unit can be moved in order to reposition it at a
different airport, it never moves during a bombing run.
|
When the player assigns a target for a bombing run, he/she
simply designates the square which will be bombed but does not
need to move the unit to do that. (For gaming purposes, we are
therefore assuming that the unit lifts off and lands within one
turn, always returning to the same airfield form which it
departed.)
None the less, these units can suffer damage or even be lost
during a bombing run (see Air Defenses).
