CONTENT TO GO

In the morning and the evening she cries quietly
Weeping, tears on the pillow, where she sleeps,
Silence is golden, and no one is there
To hear the cries of the broken heart she bears.

Alone, she finds no solace, no peace
No one to share the pain that she keeps,
Deep in her heart, deep in her soul
Tries to forgive the secret untold.

Years have come, years have gone
She grows more grey, more alone,
Searching for the secret, the one untold
Before her eyes, the story unfolds.

In front of her stands the child of her soul
The one she relinquished so long ago,
Eyes swell with tears of relief
No longer alone, she falls into sleep.

Her sleep is forever, now that she passed
Forgiven herself for her torrid past,
Her child she has held just one more time
HE has blessed this woman, this mother of mine.
