Over the years I tried and failed many times in my attempt to make the perfect tea biscuit...this recipe solved the problem!!

2 c. flour (level cups)
3 tsp baking powder (really heaping!)
1 tsp salt
1/4 c. shortening
1 egg
1/4 c. sugar
1 c. milk

Mix in exact order given.

Roll out on a floured board.
Cut with a floured cutter.
Place dab of butter on each biscuit.

Makes 1 dozen.

Bake in a 450F = 230C for 20 – 25 minutes.
