Assiago Cheese Dip

Equal parts assiago cheese and mayonnaise (not Miracle Whip!!).
There can be no substitutions!!!!

1 tin of artichokes (hearts or bottoms)
They must be canned in water not oil!!
Lots of fresh garlic!!
Hollow out a loaf of pumpernickel bread and place mixture inside and bake until cheese browns on top.

Bake in a 350 degree oven for at least 30 minutes.

Use the bread you removed for dipping and I'd suggest buying a second loaf as this makes a fair bit of dip!

Assiago cheese is becoming easier and easier to find, if you can’t get it ask the people at the deli counter in your grocery store.

A word on garlic…there’s really no reason for anyone to be using garlic powder in this day and age!! I will admit that I’ve been known to use the jarred crushed garlic but fresh is always best.

Another point about this recipe...all you Aussies out there...forget it!
For some reason Aussie Mayo is quite sweet!
I made it since being here and it tasted like I'd added a cup of sugar...yuck!!!!
