PREVAILING   WAGE
Missouri Division of Labor Standards

  All public bodies of Missouri contemplating construction work must get an Annual Wage Order from Labor Standards.  The Annual Wage Order lists the prevailing wage rates on public construction projects in each county. The rates must be incorporated into the contract specifications for the job.

  Lansing (AP) -- Calling Michigan's prevailing wage law a burden to businesses and taxpayers, a builders' association said Thursday it is suing the state to try to get the law declared unconstitutional.

   "It should be called the union wage law.  There's nothing prevailing about it", said Andy Anuzis, vice president of the Associated Builders and Contractors of Michigan.

States Prevailing Wage

  Prevailing Wage rates for public works contracts and published:

   First business day of February (effective 30 days later)

   First business day of August (effective 30 days later)

  The prevailing wage rates in effect on the bid opening date are the prevailing wage that apply to that project, no matter how long it lasts, unless the contract is awarded more than six months after the bids were due.  For those contracts where awarded was delayed bore than six months, the   prevailing wage rates in effect on the date of the award shall apply for the duration of the contract.
