The Courser
Nahran Ashonson
A lanteen rigged Xebec. A Xebec is a type of ship that operated mainly in the Mediterranean Sea from about 1650 to 1820. It was used primarily by Barbary (North African) Corsairs, who traded in their galleys for sail power and broadside capacity. The appearance of a xebec is unique. These ships had low, long hulls similar to a galley, with considerable overhang at the bow and stern. They were equipped with three lateen-rigged masts, the fore and mizzen having considerable rake to the bow and stern respectively.
The Drunken Dolphin

The brigantine was the second most popular type of ship built in the American colonies before 1775. It was a vessel that could be of various sizes, usually in the range of 30 to 150 tons burden, generally a two masted ship, square-rigged on the foremast, and having a fore-and-aft main sail on the main mast and a square main topsail. After 1720 the main square topsail was omitted in most brigantines. Swifter and more maneuverable than larger ships, the brigantine was often employed for purposes of piracy, espionage, and reconnoitering, or as an attendant upon larger ships for protection.
The Fate and Fortune
Carzevan Crey
A frigate, painted in two tone blue and black. A light, fast, but heavily armed warship used by all European nations. Square rigged as was the sail arrangement of most ships of its size, making it a fast and formidable opponent in battle. These ships usually sailed alone but when ever pirates spotted them, the pirates would fade into the distance. Such ships had the quality of being faster than anything more heavily armed, and more heavily armed than anything faster.
The Falcion

(Currently under Captain Asher Ashonson)
The sloop was a small craft with almost yacht characteristics. This one is a two mast gaff rigged topsail sloop. Eventually, the speed of these ships brought an entire fleet, used to hunt down pirates in the late 17th century.
The Grimlock
Polear and Bessie Maelstrom
The Grimlock is a big old frigate, probably the biggest ship of the lot. Three main masts, a foremast, three levels of sails, a castle to the rear, lifted fore-deck, iron coated bow sprit for ramming. Currently the residence of the Much family. Tom Much is the First Mate.
The Panther
Asher Ashonson
A Flute (or Fluit), this is a very well specified ship, flutes had the hull qualities of the smaller ships (a shallow draft), but had more cargo space and were square rigged with a lateen sail on the mizzen. Though these ships had more space, they lacked oars so going into the wind brought them to a halt. The Dutch used these ships commonly, and the English did aswell, only to a lesser extent. Flutes were common in the Caribbean, Dutch coastal waters, and the ports of Britain. It was a very popular ship type.
The Stilletto
Xion Ashonson
The Stilletto is a corvette, built specifically for speed. Essentially, The Stilletto and The Halberd work as a pair. The Stilletto is one of the faster boats around, it's an intercept ship, it matches speed with a targeted vessle and harasses and blitzes, slowing the ship down, while the Halberd catches up to deal a death blow. Stilletto is spelled deliberately incorrectly because that is how Xion spells it, since the L's and T's on the side of the ship are painted like daggers.
The Halberd / Pirate Island
Xion Ashonson
(Currently under Captain Fang)
(Now wrecked on a pile of dirt offshore, and known as Pirate Island)
A standard third rate ship of the line, it can also function as a cargo ship. In the age of sail, after the development of the line of battle in the mid 17th century, and up to the mid 19th century, a ship of the line (of battle) was a warship powerful enough to take a place in the battle line.
