The HospiceSitting on one side of the Gathering, this building has been extended and expanded several times. It now has its own grounds with a small flower and herb garden, and a pool of clear water. Current extensions include a small temple to Lyfia, goddess of Mercy.
As you'd expect, sick people go here to be made well, or to die. There is also an orphanage here. The place is run by volunteer helpers and a few paid healers. The woman who runs it is called Whiss. She's one of very few strong healers in this community. Another is Erysol, so he can sometimes be found helping her treat the very sick or badly injured.
The Black Army Medics
Since this is a fairly small community, the medics work in the Hospice as well. Trained in battlefield first aid, medics are also attached to headquarters companies. The medic program tests its soldiers to their physical and mental breaking points, requiring them to diagnose injury and illness in the most adverse conditions and under tremendous stress. They carry no weapon. Their uniform is trimmed in white instead of red.
