FAQ
What is this thing called roleplay or RP?
It's called many other things, in other forms, including 'playing pretend' and such games as 'cowboys and indians'. Basically, you just make up a person who will be your character, and then you join a text-based channel where you and other people bring their characters to interact with one another. It's a collaborative form of writing a story. Your contribution to that collaboration is the character you play.
I know what RP is. I want to know what kind of RP you guys do.

Who runs the channel?
Bessie (Mornae) and Rach (Erysol). Our regular visitors, who also storytell sometimes, are Cryos, Jammy, Meg and Zach. You might also see Alex in there on occasion, as well as Steven, Justin and a few others. We're not a busy channel. If you're looking for a quick, fun game, or you're looking for a busy channel, we're not it. We gather as friends, when our real lives allow, to continue the very involved on-going story that is our characters' lives. However, it's a huge invented community, which plenty of space for other characters to get involved. If you play the way we play, and we get on with you as a person, you're more than welcome to come and join us. For more info on that, see the 'About Us' page.
Why does my character lose every fight they're in?
Because you haven't filled in a Character Application Form. Once you've filled and sent a form, you must get op approval from Bessie or Rach, and then your character has the chance to win fights if they can.
What does this place look like?
Use the links on the left to find out more about this world, country, town and community. If you can't find the answer to your question there (or if you can't be bothered to search), ask us in the OOC.
What time zone are we playing in?
Local time in the Silver River Delta is American Central Time. To get to the time in Silver River, find your location in the list and do the math as follows:
| Eastern Time | +1 hr |
| Pacific Time | -2 hrs |
| GMT | -6 hrs |
| Australia | -13 hrs |
Can my character be a part of the existing community in Silver River, or do they have to have come from elsewhere?
See the page about Character Backgrounds for information on how to integrate your character into the existing community here. Speak to Bessie, Rach or one of the regular players for more information on ways to introduce a character to this setting.
What kind of currency is used in this world?
1 Platinum ('plat') = 10 Gold = 100 Silver = 1000 Copper. To work out the probable prices for anything, figure that a good bottle of whiskey costs 1 Gold in this place (about 10 bucks or 5 pounds) and go from there.
Do you have a forum for questions, general chat, or roleplay by forum posting?
