Inns & BarsThe Silver River Inn (aka 'The Inn')
A large building on the edge of the Gathering, this Inn has cheaper and more expensive rooms, although it is the most expensive place to stay in town, even in the cheaper rooms. There are two restaurants: one only serves fish, the other a mixture of delicacies. There are two bars, one with tables and chairs (in which there is often live music), the other with sofas and armchairs which is a bit quieter. Both serve bar food and snacks. Finally, there is a private dining room that can be hired, and is sometimes used by Mornae and Erysol if they want to entertain outside the House. There are stabling facilities, and communal but elegant bathing facilities.
The Inn is run by a very jolly man called Marcus, who is a very fine cook. (He doesn't like to be called chef. He cooks. That's what he does. People who work for him call him Marcus.) He will also do outside catering for large events.
The One-Eyed Tar (aka 'The Tar')
On the other side of the river, this is the other end of the spectrum. A dingy place with a few mismatched tables and chairs, that serves cheap ale and cheap spirits. Run by Lars, who encourages people to use the fight pits there because it brings in custom. There's one main pit, covered in sand, and a smaller pit for boys to use. Bad people hang out here.
In Between The Two
There are guesthouses scattered around town: cheap and cheerful, most of them will give you a clean bed for the night and a good breakfast in the morning. A couple of them are a bit dodgy. Sleep with your money under the pillow. There are a couple of smaller bars opening up around town, mid-scale, like a local pub. For the Black Army, there's a military club where they can hang out together, all ranks mixed up.
Whores
Mostly on the east side of the river. There is one house on the west side that offers its clientele a particular kind of discretion. Not many people know about that, though.
