The Epic of Dalen Grey

The story is set in an ancient civilization. Wars are fought with swords and castles are destroyed by heavy rocks launch with crude machines. The people are often divided by religion and class. Law and order are inforced, but the severity of punishment can depend on many things, the crime, the city, the kindness of the guard or his current mood or the amount of money you have in your pocket.

Criminals, war prisoners and indebted citizens are often forced into a term of forced labor. It pays for alot that taxes would normally.

There are three main empires in the region and four territories ruled by barbarians and tribesmen. The land is often being fought over at any given time.

There have been religious wars as well to capture sacred ground. Two distinct new religions have been gaining popularity. There is an ancient pagan religion native to the land that is slowly being forgotten. And then the various believes of the barbarians and smaller sects through the land.
