The Epic of Dalen Grey

In the morning I had some free time. I also had some answers and I almost feel stupid for not thinking of this much earlier. I could go right to employer and ask the questions I need too. The Midnight Moon is where this conflict started, and if the owner Elizia doesn't know something then I don't know who would.

I approached Elizia early that day. She can be busy most the day doing what girls like her have to do. "I need to ask you some questions if you have time Elizia."

"Sure hun, what would you like to know?"

I pause for a moment, trying to word things perfectly. "This band of thugs, I wish to know if there is anything you know about them that I don't."

"I would love to help you dear. Tell me what you know and I'll do my best to help you."

"I know a few things I.." pausing for a moment. This could be nothing, but this town has driven me overly caustious and suspicious and now my instinct told me to not reveal too much information. "..I know mostly Just what I have been told. I know they are muscling you for money and they are very loyal."

"They have hassled me along time dear, so long I forget. Sometimes worse then others. Were resourceful girls, we got by fairly well. Sometimes we fought, sometimes we paid and other times we used our special charm." She winked at me and smiled. "You came along when we were losing hope. They saw more money coming in and wanted a larger cut. It was too much. I could pay you three times over to cover the extra those thugs demanded. Before you came here dear, times where pretty tough."

"Do they have a base, a leader or something else I can use to disrupt there business."

"Hun, I don't know, I'm sure they have lots of bases. I will do what I can to find out for you dear."

"Well thanks Elizia. Just one more thing. Have you heard of anyone named Krin Tao Lin."

"I know alittle dear, but not much. I don't pay much attention to legends and rumors. From what I heard of him, he saved the empire over a hundred years ago. He used his new wealth and power to control the empire like a puppet on a string. Some say it collapsed when he got greedy, others say it still rules the land. People say Krin Tao Lin still lives and runs an underground crime ring. People are there imaginations(laughs). That would make him one hundred and sixty."

"Is that all you know about him?"

"Thats all dear. I know someone however that loves to tell the legend, if you would like to hear it."

"I would."

"His name is Toman, he is a performer of sorts. He is highly regarded as a musician around and he demands a fee accordenly. He often brings a crowd as well. I think he will be in town at the Fireside Inn in three days I believe."

"Thanks again Elizia."

"Anytime dear."

Again circumstances will lead me to the fireside. I went there later in the afternoon and I had a few drinks and meet a few local drunks. I made no friends, but I don't want to be a stranger either.

I walked through the ally way by the Dragon Foots warehouse twice to scope out a plan. I made a point to remember the layout of the place as I walked by.

That night was slower then the night before and I would have been bored til I went mad. Today however, I had to work out a strategy. Tomorrow I had to attack.
