I was suffering a bit of disbeleif the next morning. I wanted to find more answers and I got nothing but more questions. Where was Delick? Who was that masked man in the Dragon Foot Clan that attacked me and why did he run so suddenly? Why were they after Delick in the first place? I realized then That I had picked my side already and I had no idea what either one repressented. I know I'm fighting to save the girls in The Midnight Moon. I Just hope they are on the side I am on. That night I was again on bouncer duty. It wasn't out of a request, but by choice. I had almost exhausted all of my leads and I needed alittle time. I wanted to reflect and work on a new strategy. Thats what I wanted to do, but the girls seem to be growing fond of me. They are very distracting when your trying to focus on work, I guess thats what they do the best. I haven't seen Jalyn for many months, but I still feel her with me. As much as they tempt me, I never gave in. The Job gets alittle easier each day. The scenery keeps improving. The girls have always been beautiful of course, but that wasn't it. The place has changed. It use to be rowdy, loud and at sometimes out of control. The worst of customers I had thrown out so many times they haven't returned. Those that do now know what isn't acceptable behavior. At times, the people are even respectful and courteous with the girls and with each other. The decor was even nicer. The less money Elizia had to spend replacing broken chairs and tables meant more classier decorations. It was beginning to attract the upper class trying to find there vices outside the strict merchant quarters. I thought of my strategy. I could spent more time around the Fireside Inn and Wait for the Dragon Fist to show there head again. They are fairly easy to pick out of the crowd. I haven't had good luck forcing out information in the past. There must be something important about these two bars that I'm not aware of. Towards the end of the night, a man walked in and kept to himself mostly. He kept his face most covered in a hood. This wasn't bazaar behavior here since alot of socially elite liked to not be noticed here. What was odd is he didn't seem interested so much in the girls. He ordered one mug and drank it quick and said nothing else the whole time. He left soon after he arrived. A young waitress brought to my attention a note under his mug that had my name on it. I would have tracked him down, but I haven't had much luck with that in the past. The note read "Your bravery and honored have been indeed shown to be Just and your devotion was inspiring. I will contact you later for another meeting." The secrecy they had must have been important, for what ever reasons they had. It was clear to me that I also must be more descrete, which at the time would seem like a good idea. Then something came into my thoughts. Who was the note from? Delick? The man that lured me into yesterdays battle? The masked man in the Dragon Foot? The bartender of the Fireside Inn? I had to ask the question, who was pulling the strings and who was the puppet? |
