The Epic of Dalen Grey

I went to the underground tunnel for my meeting. I never was comfortable down in that rat hole. I didn't even get inside this time however. Delvori meet me at the entrance.

"Welcome Dalen. We have matters to discuss."

"Start talking."

"Always to the point, I shall skip the pleasantries then. Come inside."

He lead me down in through the tunnels. He went to the room at the end of the hall where we last met. I was hoping I wasn't gonna get trapped down here again, I should have known.

"Since you always seem so impatient Dalen, I'll try to make this quick. We have two problems. First, I want to talk to you about Brick."

"I brought him to Justice. What more do you want from me."

"You did. You brought down his whole operation. Thats more or less the problem. Our agents working for him are dead. The ties we had with the Dragon Foot Clan are broken. And I don't suppose you would like to share with me what happened to all his money."

"I only did as I was asked. I thought you wanted it this way."

"That token is a symbol of trust in our group. We had no idea Brude was gonna offer you that Job. We need the money and we would like you to free Brick from Jail. If you decide to take anymore Jobs, I kindly request you inform us before hand."

"For some reason, I'm not at all concerned of how your plans got ruined. The money is gone. I'm guessing its two days travel out of town, to were I don't know. You might be able to catch that bookkeeper if you hurry. I don't rescue criminals and my business is my own. There was something else you wanted."

"Your lack of cooperation is regretable, but it is also understandable. I must ask however that you be alittle more willing to work with me. I have found very nice place for you to live. Think of it as a gift so you don't have to sleep in that makeshift Jail anymore. But you must aggree to help me."

There was something about that place. I needed to find out what it was. I had to do it under his watch as well.

"Keep talking Delvori, I'll see what I am willing to do."

"I'm sure you have been aware of certain kidnappings from the Midnight Moon. I would prefer if you did not cause any problems when you arrange your meeting. If those men die, our last hope of bringing down the Dragon Foot Clan will die with them. Your female friend, Elivia, will likely be the next target. I need you hold your sword or our deal with the house, our relationship altogether will come to an end. You are welcome to leave now if you wish."

I was anxious to leave anyway. I have had enough of him lately and I had other things on my mind. I went straight home.

"Ondre, there is something about this house, I need your help to find it."

"What kind of something?"

"I don't know, Just help me search and left me know what you find."

"I have a draker that says I find it first."

"You have a deal."

I search the whole inside of that place. We looked all night and I found nothing. I think Ondre was real determined. I could barely get any sleep with all the noise he was making.
