The Epic of Dalen Grey

I had planned on doing alittle work when I got up in the morning. I got dressed and took three steps outside. I saw snow falling from the sky and promptly turned around and walked back inside. It was only alittle bit of snow, not even enough to coat the ground and it was failling fairly slowly. I can handle alittle snow, but I was caught by surprise. I made sure there was a nice fire the rest of the day.

I stayed in doors most of the day. I had a meeting to go to later on though. I asked Ondre to watch my back for in case I walked into an ambush. I didn't see him at all when I got near the ally. I saw a cloaked figure ahead of me.

"You wanted to meet with us. I must ask what this is about."

I knew that wasn't the voice of Delvori. I didn't know what to think now.

"I wanted to ask about Brick. Why did you set him free and sent him to kill me?"

"I'm sure you know the rules Dalen. Information doesn't come cheap."

"I think your life is cheap, I want answers now. I can't work with someone who is trying to kill me."

"There is more going on then you understand. We did not send anyone after you, you must be mistaken."

"Then tell me, before I get real impatient."

As soon as I had said that, someone fell off the roof and landed right between us. We both stepped back alittle and I drew my sword.

"This is unfortunate. I guess this can only end in a fight now."

"Ondre!"

"Sorry boss, but he had a bow and was aiming it at you."

"I don't play around, you go tell Delvori I want to meet with him and only him. I'm sick of these games. Can you do that?"

"He isn't going to be happy about this. I will tell him."

He checked on the condition of the archer on the ground. The wound was bad, but he would only die if he where left like that all night in the cold. The hooded man helped him to his feet. I realize I would have gotten attacked if there was another back up archer. I think next time there will be.

The rest of the night I watched over the Midnight Moon. I was hoping he would walk right in so I could knock him senseless. I guess I was Just getting my hopes up.
