The day started like every other. I woke up and got out of bed. I thought of all the things I needed to do for the rest of the day. I didn't have anything urgent to do today, so I figured I could take another bounty mission. I set out on my way to the guard tower. Part way there I was interrupted by someone on the street. "Its you! You stole my herbs, your gonna pay for this if you don't hand them over." I didn't have them, I gave them away the day before. He didn't know this and nothing I could say will change what he thinks. He did however threaten me and that is unforgivable. I drew my blade. "Then I guess I'll pay, unless you come willingly." He was a brave person. I say this because it takes alot of bravery to fight someone when you have very little skill. It was a clink and a clank and he was flat on his back without a sword. "Get off your feet and give up before I kill you." He didn't say a word, he Just listened to my directions. I took him straight to the Jail for questioning. I stayed there for a few hours looking for answers to his friend. I got a few clues but I didn't have time to follow through. I wanted to get my compensation and leave. "Sargent Keen, I want my bounty money." "Yes Dalen, but I can only give you twenty drakers. It was part of the bounty, you will get the other thirty when you bring the other man in." "I will return with him as soon as I can." "Thanks again Dalen." I went to the Midnight Moon. I arrived earlier then I normally did. Elizia brought me into a private room to talk. I wasn't sure what she wanted. "Hun, you have been so good to us here. But I think this Job is getting in the way of your other work." "I don't mind Elizia." "Your so loyal dear. But I know this Job is a waste of your talents. I want you to focus your efforts on the factions in this city." "Are you trying to fire me." "Of course not, I Just wish to hire you for a Job you are more suited for. I need your help taking on the Dragon Foot Clan and the Council of Elders. I don't think my business will be able to last if this war breaks out. They are both likely to squeeze money out of us to prepare for a war if nothing happens. I might have missions for you later, but I don't need a bouncer as skilled as you are." "I understand. I wish you luck." "Hun, I hope you won't be affraid to drop by and visit. Your company is always welcome." She really was a kind caring women and I was happy to have worked for her. "I'll make sure to visit you often." "Thanks dear." I didn't have anything left to do for the day so I went home. Ondre was gone when I got home. I didn't think anything of it, at least I wouldn't worry about getting sleep with him gone. |
