Threed Lodge No. 7
INTRODUCTION

Threed Lodge officially became the President's Retreat in 1909, when the First Lady requested that " we should have aplace away form the Capital to get some rest... How about Threed? there are beautiful houses there..."

Since then, Number 7 Lodge became the President's official estate in Threed. Located some 40 KM east of the Chateau, The Current Presidential Compound covers 4 Hacters, approximately 2 Km in diameter. It includes a conservetive forestry, part of the Nation's Best kept secrets, the boroguhs of Threed.

Within the compound is a historic mansion, which serves as the residence, as well as the famous Palm Valley, where the Presidential Helicopter arrives and departs Threed. There is a Flower Hybrid garden within the court yards of the Mansion, along with a senic lodge built atop a hill overlooking the beautiful Boroguhs. The Compound is home to swans, which swim and waddle around a lake that runs a perimeter of 200 Meters. Another Lodge is built along Presidential Mile, the main road leading to the Lodge and Palm Valley. It trys to represent the old French Au Jadin's house.

The President's plant collection is also within the compound, along with a 50 meter swimming pool, two tennis courts, a 8 hole golf course  (part of Plam Valley) and a jogging track. Threed Lodge is indeed the Presidential Getaway for the First Family.

The Compound takes up about 30% of the whole of threed Boroguh Lodges. This one is reserved for the President, number 7, which the other 20 are opened to the Public. 

FAMOUS VISITORS


Famous Leaders have been hosted at the Lodge, and Former President Kedinsky has seen visits by US President George W. Bush and Prime Minister Tony Blair. Other notable figures who have been hosted at the Lodge apart from the Nation's Presidents include Pope John Paul the II, John F. Kennedy and Mrs Kennedy, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, Magaret Tatcher, Her Majesty the Queen of UK, His Majesty King Hussien of Jordan, as well as the Russian President Boris Yeltsen.

VISITING

You, can visit the Lodge as well. The grounds of Lodge Number 7 are open to the public on a daily basis, 6.30 AM - 6.00 PM except on certian Saturdays, and Sundays. No tickets are required to enter, but all visitors are subjected to security screenings. Threre is no time limit as to how long you can stay in the compound, but last the admission is at 5.30 PM

Visitors will get to tour Palm Valley, Presidential Mile, and walk the trails within the compound.

The Lodge is open only at certian times of the year, and visitors will get to tour the Enterance Hall, the Hall of the Muses, the Library, the Dining Room as well as the Guards Room. They will get to walk through the Courtyards of the Mansion as well.

Free Tickets are required to enter the Lodge. The Tickets will be distributed on a limited first come first serve basis, at 7.00 AM on the day of the tour. Tickets distributed at the Chateau Historical Association, outside the estate.

Please note that the Lodge will be open daily from 7.00 AM - 3.00 PM throughout the months of August and September 2005. Except on certian degsinated days.

Visitors can also view Presidential exhibits at the Chateau Historical Association, just outside the estate. There, they can view the famous 'Chateau in miniature' and see other exhibits related to the President. the Association is open Daily, from 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM EXCEPT on Public Holidays. Admission is free.

GETTING THERE

You can get to the estate by taking High Way (HY) 51 from downtown Metro, or HY 01 from Metro AFB/West Metro, or HY 613 from Castle/Empty Plains/Arlingtery. Bus servise from Constitution walk include 1554, 1553 and 143. A resonable time to tour the town of Threed is 2 to 3 days, and hotels can be booked at www.visitthreed.com. It will take at least 1 hour to get there by Car from downtown Metro City, 2 hours by Bus service. There are currently no train connections.
