State Visit
The President Hosts a State Visit
A State Visit consists of two days of Official Engagements at the Chateau, a minimun of a three day visit to Metro City. A State Visit denotes strict protocal observed to the tinyest detail. Often associated with the Old Fashioned sense of cereony, the State Visit consits of tradition and symoblism omre than anything else.

Heads of State are traditionally welcomed with a military parade at the airport followed by a State Arrival Ceremony at the South Lawn of the Chateau. The visitor will also sign in the Official Chateau guest book and will exchange official gifts with the president. On occasion, the guests will be invited to stay the night at the Chateau, in the Sophyer Suite, though this tradition was abandoned in 1962. It was revived in 2003, and leaders such as HM the King of Jordan, President Putin of Russia and HM the King of Spain have stayed there since then.

The highlight of any State Visit is of course the State Dinner, dramatic and entertaining, it is where up to 100 guests are invited to dine at the Chateau. Preperations of the dinner can extend for days before, and it is here where the Chateau's Chef's skills are put to the test to come up with exquesite creations.

Following dinner, Guests are invited to an entertainment where famous musicians will perform in honour of the visiting guest. In recent times, musicians such as Sting, Lucetto Pavarotti, Don Juan, Yo-Yo Ma, Vanessa Mae, Katherine Battle and others have performed to Honour the visiting Heads of State.

The evening ends with a Ball kicked off by the President's First Dance. Guest dance the night away, letting their hair down after a day of strict ceremony and protocal.
