For years, the Chateau has facinated millions of people around the world and around the Country. Many have wondered what lies behind thouse white walls, it's history and it's happenings. Here at the Chateau's Official Website, come discover the rich history behind the walls of the Chateau.

WEEKEND PUBLIC TOURS:

The Chateau is usually open to the general public on all Saturdays.These tours are self guided and will not come with a guide for assistance. Foreign tourists can request listening aides from the Chateau Visitor's Center. The tours are avalible in French, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese and German.

However, the Chateau may be closed without prior notice for a Presidential Engagement or event. You may visit the Chateau Visitor's Center for more infomation on tour schedules:

No tickets are required.
Tours will admit anyone who joins the line, which starts at the Chateau's North West Gate. Last admission is at 10.00 AM.

Tours start at 8.00 AM and last until 10.30 AM

All tours will last 30 minutes and will begin at the North West Enterance, and will take you through the North Portico, the Center Room, the Picture Gallery, the State Dining Room, the Marx Guilligan Hall, the Blue Room and the Music Room located on the State Floor. The tour ends with a paranomic view of the South Lawn as tourist exit via the South Portico and South West Gate.

The Chateau is handicapp friendly, and tourists who need assistance for wheelchairs etc, can approch the Staff for assistance. Physically handicapped visitors can request to take the elevator when getting from the Ground floor to the State Floor.

WEEKDAY SCHOOL TOURS

Schools and tertery institutions can apply to tour the Chateau on Tuesdays through Thursdays, from 8.00 AM to 10.30 AM.

Each tour will last 30 minutes and will take you through the rooms of the State Floor. Groups are limited to that of 200 per half hour tour. A dedicated guide will be assigned to each group of 40, and the guide will give the group an overview of the rooms as well as a room by room historical tour. Teachers are recommended to conclude the tour by having a debrief and quiz at the Chateau Visitor's Center after the tour. Teaching aides and worksheets are avalible on request at such quizes.

TOURS FOR THE HEARING AND VISUALLY IMPARED

From time to time, the Chateau organizes tours for the visually and hearing impared, where visitors are allowed to touch the objects in the room. Please check out www.chateauvisit.org for such tours.
