History & Tours The Kluger Library
The Library today holds many numerous collections of historical artifacts and literature,
The Kluger Library is often used by the President or First Lady to host Presentations or receptions pertaining to Literature or the Arts, but is also used for informal cocktail receptions prior to dinner on the Kluger Terrice or a ceremony in the ajoining Duc De Orleans Treaty Room. In 2007, the room was redecorated into the Adam Style with Ornamentation in the French Empore period. One Historical Fresco has been saved from the French Era Chateau, a fresco in oil painted by Jean Baton Arosteed in 1665 for the Chateau. Two replicas were comissioned in 1850 depicting scenes of the British invasion and the Independence of the Federation. All three Frescos adorn the south wall. The two replica Frescos were painted by Lenox Decaprio, a famous fresco and oil painter during that time. Prior to redecoration in 2000, the Kluger Libarary was decorated in Burgandy Red and Wood. Mrs. Tafter had the room redecorated to a blue and gold colour scheme, as it is today. First Families have enjoyed sitting here after dinner or a party on the Terrie, but this room has also served numerous critical desision makings prior to signing of treaties in the neighbouring Treaty Room. The most historical incident was a furious stressful debate and argumet in 1945 when the Federation switched to help the allied forces. That crucial desition happened in this room.
