DBA camps for sale!

My project for 2004 is to create DBA camps to sell at the various conventions I attend this year. My reason is that I have decided to try and make the hobby "pay for itself" this year. In other words, what I spend on the hobby (convention hotels, new figs, rules, etc.), I want to offset with income from it, as well. It's my goal to buy a house this year, and this should help.

Why camps and not armies? Well, I've always enjoyed making them, and seem to have a knack for creating cool camp vignettes with leftover figures, bass wood, odds and ends from craft stores, etc. Also, they seem less like "work" than spending the equivalent number of hours on painting an army for someone else would be. Plus, if I'm really attached to a camp I make, I can always decide not to sell it -- can't quite do that with someone else's figs, though!

I've added this section to my web site so that people can see what my camps look like and perhaps even arrange in advance for me to bring a particular type of one to a show they'll be at, as well. Plus, the photos will be a keepsake for me and might jog my memory when I'm designing another camp as to what I liked or didn't. If you see a particular camp that interests you, and you will be at one of these shows, e-mail me. If it is still available, I can set it aside for you, or perhaps create a similar one if it's been sold. Or if you have an army you'd like me to design a camp for, let me know. My first sales were "commissions" of this sort. All my camps are unique, and are scratch-built. Some items may be purchased, like tents, barrels, etc., but the design and concept are my own.

I will sell most camps for $20-25, depending on the amount of hours I put into it, and sometimes the equipment on them. I have been tremendously pleased with the sales of my camps, so far. In a space of little more than two months, I've created and sold 22 camps! Thank you, all of you who have purchased them. Your support and business is greatly appreciated.
