Greek Wall & Ruined Temple camp

Greek Wall & Ruined Temple Camp

My Greek camps seemed to be selling pretty well, I'd noticed, so when I was making my fifth batch (to take to Cold Wars), I figured I'd do another one. I guess lots of people own Greek or Successor type armies, or ones that could conceivably be fighting near Classical ruins. The idea for this one was that the army had taken over a ruined, walled temple complex.

The wall is made from Precision Products' 3D Plastic veneer sheeting. I used a thin slab of styrene plastic and epoxied the veneer to either side, filling up the gaps with excess epoxy. The molded stone pattern was very easy to paint, with a black, then dark gray, then lighter gray drybrush. It looks better in person than this photo shows. Anyway, first I covered the 40x80mm styrene plastic base for the camp with an equal size rectangle of craft foam. Then I cut a slot into the craft foam for the two wall pieces to fit in, affixing them with epoxy.

I did the same with the four small squares of styrene plastic that I cut for the bases of the columns. The columns themselves were done as the other camps I made, using Wood Shoppe Turnings fluted pegs, and trimming them to size. As with the wall, they were painted black, then dry brushed a darker then lighter shade of gray.

The camp followers include an Old Glory Cretan archer and a woman from Corvus Belli's camp followers pack. You can't see it well in the photo, but the woman is holding a baby. The ground was flocked with blended grass colors from Woodland Scenics, plus a few clumps of bigger flocking for vegetation taking hold in the complex.

The camp was sold for $25 to Jason Mirosavich at Cold Wars.
