This camp was meant to represent a somewhat generic farmstead taken over by a "Barbarian" army. The hut came from a pack of resin Celtic village buildings from JR Miniatures. I love their stuff, as it is very reasonably priced and always deeply cut with detail, making painting a snatch.
The base is styrene plastic with two long strips of craft foam epoxied on top along the edges where the fence would be. Then I cut out round holes in the craft foam with an X-acto knife for the dowels that would make the fence posts. I then epoxied Craft Stix to the dowels for the fence rail. The hut, fence, camp followers and animals were all painted and epoxied into place. The warrior is an Old Glory Celt, while the farmer with pitchfork is from Corvus Belli's camp follower pack. Both the pig and sheep are from Peter Pig, I believe.
This was actually a simple camp to do, with the fence being the only real construction I had to do. Of course, if I put a purchased resin building on every camp, it would certainly cut into my profit margin! However, this was one I had won at Drums Along the Maumee last year, and I had no real plans to use it myself. Thus, I didn't feel guilty about selling it off.
This camp was sold at our Gods of War DBA campaign for $25 to Steve Sattler.
