We have chosen the bat as our friendly companion and good will ambassador because it shares various characteristics with Eclampsia. It thrives and lurks in dark places. Most of its life cycle is spent silently. It navigates blindly with advanced and complex sonar technology. Most classes are vegetarian and insect eaters, but some (Desmodentidae) feed on blood and their saliva shows some anticoagulant effects. Finally, they have been blamed falsely for many hideous crimes never committed, and no matter how you look at it, the poor thing is ugly.
