                                         ARCHIVES
October 21, 2002

I have been suffering through a month of upheaval, no internet, and a small case of writer's block. With all of that in mind, I figure it best to make my triumphant return with this long sought after guest column. And believe me, it's a doozy (I'm not a 65-year old grandmother, but I can write like one on occasion). I have never officially asked the author if I can use her name, but considering that it has been mentioned before, it should not be too hard to figure out. This a hilarious, fun read that all of you should take the time to enjoy. Plus, it provides a fun parlor game in trying to figure out whose name's have been changed. Without further ado, here is Man-Eater.
10 Songs from the Eighties (That Never, Ever would have been featured here without the theme)
1) "Cruel Summer" -Bananarama
2) "867-5309/Jenny" - Tommy Tutone
3) "Prove My Love" - Violent Femmes
4) "Summer of '69" - Bryan Adams
5) "I'm on Fire" - Bruce Springsteen
6) "Come on Feel the Noize" - Quiet Riot
7) "When Doves Fly" - Prince
8) "Always Something There to Remind Me" - Naked Eyes
9)  "Down Under" - Men at Work
10) "Sraight Outta Compton" - N.W.A.
Amazing Tales from the Story's Author
The first time I became acquainted with the story's author was the night before graduation. Her and two friends invited my friend and I up for a drink...but not the kind of drink discussed in Maneater. How am I sure that I am not one of those oblivious males who didn't recognize a drink come-on when it occurred? Well, once we were up in the room, the girls took the remainder of the alcohol, never offering my friend or I as much as a sip. After a snub like that, it is amazing that I am still friends with all involved. No, I'm not still bitter.
