The Tolkien Connection
(sung to Rainbow Connection by Paul Williams)

Why are there so many songs about Tolkien?
And the tales of the Hobbits he wrote
Lord of the Rings is just a good story.
Though it took #1 in the Vote.
So we've been told
And some choose to believe it.
I know they're wrong. Wait and see.
Someday we'll find it
The Tolkien Connection.
The Hobbits, The Nazgul and Bree.

Who said that every tale
Must be just a fiction
When told by a storyteller?
Somebody thought of that
And others believed it
So our dreams they'd try to conquer
What's so appealing that makes us keep reading?
It's someplace we'd all like to be.
Someday we'll find it.
The Tolkien Connection.
The Hobbits, The Nazgul, and Bree.

All of us in Middle-Earth.
We know that it's only a movie.

Have you been half-asleep
Or have you heard voices?
I've heard them calling before.
Are these elf voices that call to the readers?
It could be it's more than just lore.
I've read it too many times to ignore it
It's someplace that I'm supposed to be.
Some day we'll find it.
The Tolkien Connection.
The Hobbits, The Nazgul, and Bree.
