I am looking for my WELLS ancestors who supposedly lived in Vermillion Township, Ashland Co, OH between 1830-1840 before moving to Norwalk, Huron Co, OH. The specific family is: father: James WELLS b: 1792 in NH mother: Persis (Earle) WELLS b: 1790 or 1794 in NY son: Francis James WELLS son: James (Fones?) WELLS b: 1814 NY or VT son: Justice / Justus WELLS son: William W(ashington) WELLS b: 1830 m: Elizabeth STREETER dau: Clarissa .. married to Nathan WHITING and Erastus IVORY dau: Eunice ... married to Charles BENTLEY also possibly a man named JEFFRIES there is supposed to be another child but have not identified. Am trying to trace the parents of my grandmother, Gertrude Kinney. Her Maiden name was Humm. She died In 1942. She married Van Kinney around 1900. She may have come from a Menonite family.They lived their married life in Ashland. They had three children,Ethyl, Gloyd, and florence.

I am researching the family of James and Maria (McDowell) Coe. James (1805-1879) and Maria (1810-1888) were married in 1828. They moved to Ashland County about 1838. They had ten children. The three children I have found are Steven (1832-1849); Nathaniel (1834-1897); and Joseph, (1835-1863) James and Maria and these three sons are buried in Old Perrysville Cemetery. Would like to exchange information with anyone else researching this family.

I am looking for any information on Sebastian S. (aka Simon)& Matilda (Weisent) NAU family. Mr NAU was in the grain and elevator business. They moved in 1901 to Honey Creek then about 1908 to Loundenville. This couple died along with their son in a tragi car/eastbound train accident in July 1916. (The family is buried at St. Joseph's, Ashland Co., Ohio--> but YOUR Cemetery records site as the name incorrectly spelled as NAN. At that time the only surviving members of this family circle was Miss Augusta NAU (born 1890) and William NAU (born 1893). If anyone has any information on this line, I would greatly appreciate it.

Looking for any information on James Lester PROSSER. He was from Columbiana Co. (may have been born in New York) and first married Anna KAPP, had three sons, Richard, Ralph and Raymond (Living in the Canton area). They divorced and James than married a M ry ? and had five more children. I think he died abt. 1957 in Loudonville. I would like to know the names of the 5 children, when he actually died, the name of his second wife, and who his parents were. I think his parents were John and Mary and that t ey were originally from Wales. My children are his great grandchildren. Because of divorces, little is known to us. James' son Richard wed Dorothy Snyder and they also divorced when their son was just a baby and all contact was discouraged. Willing to share but have very little to share at this time.
