DERMAN, GIFFIN, LEINARD, WEDDELL, WEDDLE posted by Danja Thompson on Monday, November 16, 1998

I am trying to locate the parents of Susan Rebecca WEDDELL born 17 Feb. 1842 in Ashland Co. She married Jeremiah LEINARD 14 Feb. 1867 in Ashland Co., and died 23 Apr. 1907 in Mansfield, Ohio. Her known brothers & sisters were Sam & Grant WEDDELL; Mary, who married William GIFFIN in Richland Co., but lived in Mifflin; and Mrs. D. DERMAN (no first name known). I believe her father to be James WEDDELL or WEDDLE who was born in Westmoreland Co. PA. I think his wife died in her late 30's and may be buried in Hayesville where they supposedly lived. After a while James went to live in Noble Co., India a. All the people with the last name of WEDDELL or WEDDLE listed in the 1850 Ashland Co. Census are related. If anyone knows anything about this family or is related to them please contact me. Thank you! Submitted by Danja Thompson- Mansfield, Ohio [email protected]
