Here it is!  The Oz Top 40 Countdown for the week ending April 13, 2002.

Ok, so I felt the need to expand my charts again and AGAIN!  So now we are dealing with at top 30 .. and now a top 40 .. ENJOY!  I had always wanted to do a top 40 and now I have enough and more to do so.

I had kind of a dilema this week.  I reall am loving Darren Hayes's new album (seeing as the next single,
Strange Relationship debuts this week and number 16 and Insatiable spends its 4th week atop the charts), but I'm kinda bugged that a few of the songs can't chart.  I have a policy that a song is only eligible if it is a single ANYWHERE in the world, or in the Kylie case a B-Side (but trying to limit that).  Anyway, one of my favorite songs, Crush (1980 Me) would definitely be number one right now, but it's inelgible to chart.  I was considering totally revamping my charts, but then decided not to because then my charts wouldn't be as accurate a refelction of my favorite singles right now (note I didn't say songs).

Toya moves up one more spot to number two and M2M resurges back to number three this week.  The former number 2 hit had fallen as far as 11 before this week.  The top debut (of 14) this week is from Aaliyah.  Her latest single,
More Than A Woman, finds its way into my heart thanks to its inclusion on NOW 51, which I got this week.  In fact, most of the debuts this week are from NOW 51.  Daniel Bedingfield's Gotta Get Through This debuts thanks to the different, MUCH BETTER, mix that is on NOW.

Pink makes this week's biggest move, shooting up 12 spots to number 9.  Fat Joe makes the big plunge again this week, falling back 14 spots.

Well that's all for this week.  I would write more, but I just don't have the time at this moment.  Expect full commentary next week.  There is a tight race in the top 5, so check back next week to see if Darren can make it a 5th week at number one!

Until then ...
