Here it is!  The Oz Top 25 Countdown for the week ending March 23, 2002.

I am going to have to keep this section very short as I was just in NEW YORK CITY for spring break!  Yeah for me!  While I was there, I picked up the new Darren Hayes album for my friend Seth.  Well, while listening to it, I grew to love a few songs, especially the first single,
Insatiable, which rockets up to number one this week.  While Darren hasn't exactly moved away from the Savage Garden sound, I don't want him to, because I like it a lot.  I only wish that Savage Garden still existed.

The highest debut this week comes from a group from Scottland (?) called Lasgo.  Their dance track,
Something, enters this week at number 3.  It's a great song and hopefully will have a healthy chart reign on the countdown.  The other debuts this week come from Cher and Puddle Of Mudd.  Now that is has been released in Germany, Alive Again, is offially eligible to enter the charts.  Unfortunately, I have been listening to this song a lot and I have already started to grow tired of it.  It's a big problem when album tracks become popular when the album is released and then by the time they are finally eligible for release, I have grown tired of them.  I have been meaning to chart Blurry for weeks now and have finally gotten around to it.  Good rock song with a good melody line.  Need I say more?

P.O.D. reenters this week, actually repeaking at number 14 with
Youth Of The Nation.  This weeks biggest mover is Celine Dion's latest.  Her latest album comes out the 26th.  This weeks biggest faller is Jars of Clay.  After spending two weeks at number 3, I Need You falls back to number 11.  As the usual chart life on my countdown is relatively short, it's pretty amazing to see 3 songs who have been on the chart for 10 weeks or more.  Most notably is Iio's Rapture, which in its 15th week holds at number 15.  I actually heard this song twice this weekend on my home radio station (KLYV - 105.3 FM, Dubuque, Iowa).  I was SHOCKED (as well as extremely happy!!) because I never thought that they would play it.  The song is also on the verge of cracking the top 40 on the Hot 100.  Hopefully the song will do just that.

Well that's all for this week.  There is a tight race in the top 5, so check back next week to see w
ho's number one and who falls off!

Until then ...
