| Here it is! The Oz Top 25 Countdown for the week ending March 16, 2002. I am going to have to keep this section very short as I am leaving in a little while to go to NEW YORK CITY for spring break! Yeah for me! ANYHOW, this week sees the week in which I FINALLY saw Moulin Rogue and of course I liked it. Seeing the movie obviously helped Ewan McGregor & Nicole Kidman's duet, the BEAUTIFUL Come What May, rise back up 7 spots to reclaim the top spot after 2 weeks. Look for this one to stay on top for at least one more week as next week's charts will be pretty boring due to the fact that I won't be hearing any new music. This weeks' highest debut comes from Darren Hayes, formerly of Savage Garden. His first solo single, Insatiable, from his new album Sping, debuts high at number 8. This one took a while to grow on me, but it's a good song and there are some great dance remixes floating around, so go and listen to one! The other debuts this week are from Sheryl Crow, who last was on the charts 3 years ago this week with her former number one, Anything But Down. Will this be another number one? Probably not. It will have to depend on when I hear the album version. It's a nice song, but she's had better. O-Town marks the last debut, as the follow up to their number 3 hit, We Fit Together, debuts this week. Love Should Be A Crime also took some time to grow on me, but it's a decent song. This weeks biggest mover belongs to Mary J. Blige. Although, No More Drama isn't bulleting (I only award bullets to songs that are peaking or repeaking), it makes the biggest move this week, up 7 spots to number 16. This weeks biggest faller is by Vanessa Carlton. While I like A Thousand Miles, the song has started to get old for me. After spending two weeks at number 5, the song has plummeted since. Well that's all for this week. There is a tight race in the top 5, so check back next week to see who's number one and who falls off! Until then ... |
