Mecha Information:
The
Shinsei Industries VF-17 Nightmare was the first full production variable
fighter built for the UN Spacy to incorporate a frame and hull constructed
with radar absorbent materials as well as a low-radar signature design.
Long used primarily by small elite teams of pilots, the Nightmare is being
seen more and more often on the battlefield. This is primarily due
to the reduced cost of Nightmare parts, while simultaneously the costs for
the newer advanced tactical fighters continues to rise.
The VF-17D is the standard mecha assigned to the Heartbreakers squadron,
while it squad leaders each fly the VF-17S. The Nightmare's stealth
profile and heavy armor allows the Heartbreakers to act not only as
independent forward scouts, but as the Rim Expeditionary Forces' primary
assault squadron.
