Sabbats

The Wiccan Calendar contains eight Days of Power or Sabbats. Four of these days fall on the Solstices or Equinoxes and the other four are the fire festivals of the Old Folk.

Sabbats are Solar Festivals and they symbolise the endless circle of birth, death and rebirth. They tell us of the relationship between the Goddess and the God and the effects this has on the Earth.

By observing the Sabbats, Wiccans attune themselves to the Earth and the Deities. Honouring the Sabbats is an integral part of Wicca.

The Sabbats are;

Samhain

Yule

Imbolc

Ostara

Belatne

Midsummer

Lammas

Mabon
