Esbats Esbats are the Wiccan Lunar celebrations. While it is most popular to celebrate only on the Full Moon, some groups or solitaries celebrate the all of the moon's cycles. The word 'Esbat' comes from the French word esbattre, meaning 'to frolic'. The Full Moon is a perfect time to lay your magickal tools, crystals and gems out in the moonlight to renew their strength. You can also consectrate your tools for magickal work in a ritual. The night of the Full Moon is when every Wiccan should sacfrifice time to the study and performance of magick. There are 12 or 13 Esbats on the Wheel of the Year. Each Full Moon has its own name. Below is a list of the most common names used by Wiccans to describe the Full Moons of the Year. The Full Moons are: January: The Wolf Moon February: The Storm Moon March: The Chaste Moon April: The Seed Moon May: The Hare Moon June: The Dryad Moon July: The Mead Moon August: The Corn Moon September: The Harvest Moon October: The Blood Moon November: The Snow Moon December: The Oak Moon
