Meditaion is one of the most usefull skills you could ever learn. Its will not only relax you it can aid you to become more intune with the natural flows of energy. Before meditating it would be useful to designate a spot where you will normally meditate (preferable somewhere quiet and peacefull). Also a quick prayer to your prefered Deity will help you to seperate the meditation from normal everyday life. You could also light a candle, which will serve the same purpose. How to Meditate: Step 1 First of all get into a relaxed seating position (never lie down unless astral projecting). A common position is sitting with your legs crossed, back straight and arms on your knees. You can also sit on a chair. You should always have your back as naturally straight as possible during meditation as it aligns your Chakras (imagine a thread attached to your head keeping your back straight). You should also never fold/cross your arms, as this will affect the energies. Most importantly of all make sure you are comfortable. Step 2 Right now that you have your posture sorted out you need to relax using some deep breathing. Take a few large deep breaths in and out, sighing as you breath out. Release all tension in your body as you do this. Then start to breathe out for about 4-6 seconds, then hold for half of that (if 4 then hold for 2, if 6 then hold for 3), then inhale for 4-6 seconds, and then hold for half again. Do this for about 5 to ten minutes until it becomes your natural rhythm of breathing. Step 3 Now with your eyes closed visualize a giant screen before you (like a blackboard, or movie screen). This is the screen of your mind (your minds eye). Anything you desire will appear on this screen. On this screen, visualize a series of numbers, counting down from 12 to 1. Step 4 you are now at your meditative state. You will be now counting down deeper to a more focused meditative state. Now count backwards from 13 to 1 but this time do not visualize the numbers, just let the the numbers gently take you down. Yuo are now at your deepest meditative state, your magickal mindset, in complete control of your magickal abilities. Step 5 From here, you can continue on to other exercises and experiences, or meditate at this level for a while and then bring yourself up, counting from 1 to 13 and then 1 to 12. Gentle start to wiggle your fingers and toes and slowly move to bring your awareness back to the physical. Step 6 Now take both hands and raise them up and over your head, palms facing your crown. Slowly bring them down over your forehead, face. throat, chest, abodomen, and then groin, and 'push out' with your palms facing away from your body. This gives your clearance and balance, releasing any harmful or unwanted energies, that you may ahve picked up on your magickal energies. Step 7 All thats left now is to ground yourself.
