The Light

When you are at your lowest
Nothing seems to matter anymore;
You want to give up and give in
Knowing life holds nothing for you in store.

You are as low as a snake's belly
Rubbing the ground as you crawl along;
Your ears so blocked you cannot hear
Even the most precious words in a song.

Then from somewhere deep inside your heart
A small voice calls our your name;
You raise your head and listen
All the while thinking you surely are insane.

It is then the beam of light descends on you
To lighten your world of gloom;
That sweet and precious light of the angels
Could surely brighten the darkest room.

It is God's voice calling to you
Telling you He will always be there;
No matter what the problem may be
He, like no other will always care.

So my friend, when you are feeling your lowest
And the world seems to hold nothing anymore;
Look up to the heavens and search for the light
Follow the hand of God forevermore.
