| A Touch in the Night One night as I lay down to sleep A soft touch I did feel, It was a touch I had felt many times before This time tho it caused my mind to reel. The touch was an echo from the past One of love and caring of one I hold so dear, A touch from one who has now gone on But in this way showed me he is still very near. I spoke to him softly into the night Tho I knew there would be no answer to my call, As I whispered his name in the darkness there The shadows began moving into the hall. I leaned from my bed so I might watch As the shadows continued to go, Ever so slowly they glided down the hall My mind never questioned whether they were friend or foe. I knew from the touch I felt on my arm The shadows were my dear sweet son, He came to me in the night to show me the light A visit that could never be outdone. Reassurance to me that night he did give With a touch that was such sweet bliss, My heart he did lighten with that tender touch For I knew that touch had to be his.
