My Greatest Love

Let me tell you about
The greatest love for me;
It started before the day
His face I first did see.

This love grew so strong
As days turned to years;
I loved him forever and always
Even when happiness turned to tears.

But the tears never lasted long
With love so brave and bold;
Those tears would turn to smiles again
Before they had grown cold.

Then one day my greatest fear
Became harsh reality;
When God came to call him home
To spend eternity.

So now my greatest love
Is my spirit guide of sorts;
He gently directs my path
Tho to God he still reports.

When my life is full of clouds
And I know not which way to go;
My loving angel spirit guide
Help me thru the sun or snow.

So tho he's gone now from my life
My greatest love he remains;
We still laugh and love and play
As my life he sustains.

If you, like me have a greatest love
Who has gone on  before;
Never doubt the power of your spirit guide
To open for you each door.
