Differential Equations deals with solving equations of real functions of one variable and one or more of its derivatives. It is a pretty straightforward topic. Differential equations are classified in several types, and for each type there is particular method that solves it. It is the task of the student to first recognize the type and second use the corresponding technique for solving it
Numerical Analysis deals with techniques to solve problems requiring long computations. While somewhat tedious, it has many important practical applications in science. The use of the computer software MATLAB may be included in this part.
