Florida is called (or maybe it calls itself?) "The Sunshine State." I have a different name for it, it is "The Thunderstorm State."  For on every occasion that I have arrived there it has thundered. The picture below shows Deerfield Beach on a very wet day there, August 31st 2000. I will add some of the 2001 pictures in due course.

The following States will be covered specifically in due course: Arizona. Arkansas. California. Colorado. Florida. Illinois. Louisiana. Maine. Michigan. New York. Ohio; Texas. Utah. Vermont; West Virginia. Wyoming. and Hawaii! (one of the most amazing places that I have visited so far)

I have spent a total of 2 weeks in Florida. That was plenty long enough. It was with a package tour company with whom I have vowed never to book another holiday again. Enough of that! It made a restful break being almost stranded here. Thank heavens for the excellent Lynx bus service run by the Central Florida Regional Transport Authority. We stayed right on the western end of route number 55, a route only just introduced when I visited Florida wih my elder son.in June 2001.
