Boston, Massachusetts

My first visit to this New England City was not a good one, in that I only had one day there and it rained for the whole of it! That was on July 1st, 1999. However in July 2002, I was invited to Ogunquit, Maine, to sign some of my books at Books Ink, a lovely little independant bookshop, and I stopped off in Boston for a couple of days on either side of the visit to Ogunquit to explore the city a little more completely.

Right It is not for nothing that this  part of the North East of North America is called New England, for Massachusetts was where the Pilgrim Fathers settled. There is much English influence in this part of America to this day, and the use of brickwork is one of them. This Boston MA street makes use of much brickwork, a building material that is remarkably scarce in its domestic usage over much of the United States of America.
