Arcade Games - Planet of Zoom |
The "Planet of Zoom" was released by Sega in 1982, it was also released
under the Colleco and Atari name n different formats such as cassette
and cartridge. Below are some screen shots of the Sega version in action..
Planet of Zoom is a basic space shooter where the player has to destroy
the enemy craft in order to proceed to the next level of the game. Then
you will have to face the mother ship which releases many smaller ufo's,
this is the same scenario that many arcade games play out..
Above, the Sega release for Commodore which utilizes a cassette and
below is Colleco's version of the game which uses a cartridge..
It was also released by Sega to the larger arcade machines in both
the standing position unit and the relaxed cockpit design, below are
some original advertising. Notice the same graphics are also used
by the Colleco company..

Arcade Games - Sega's Countdown to Doomsday |
A later item released once again by the Sega company, this time
its a role playing game..
Based on the comic book series, the Earth is a polluted ruin having been
abused through centuries of heavy industry and warfare. The interplanetary
mega corporation RAM (Russo American Mercantile) has risen to become
one of the greatest powers in the solar system during the 3rd Millennium.
Only a few small resistance groups try to oppose RAM's rape of the Earth,
but they are hopelessly outclassed in nearly everything. The game begins as
your party joins one of the resistance groups - NEO (New Earth Organization)
to fight for the Earth and restore it to its former glory.
