Defense Breaking
The overall strongest and most effective defense breaker is the zerg swarm and crackling strategy. This works best on terran since most of their units are ranged. Against protoss, armies of dt's and cosairs can kill off this attack. Zerg can counter this the same way you do. You need to use queens against experts. Newbies will ALL die from the swarm and crackling tactic. It takes an expert to properly defend against this strategy.
Vs Newbies - Just use the swarm and crackling tactic against all 3 races. If zerg has lurkers, you need to kill them first. You can plague and ensnare them and then just attack with lings. Make sure you have overlords near by.
Vs Experts - Against terran, you need to use combinations of swarm, plague, ensnare, and spawn. Zerg has no doubt the hardest time killing terran defense. Everything must also be done fast before effects wear off. First ensnare the front-line infantry and tanks. Then swarm over them and quickly use plague. This will deplete you defiler energy. Of course, you should always have more standing by. Run in with your ultralisks, then zerglings, then hydras. You air support should follow if necessary. Usually, you will have devourers and mutas. Perhaps you will have 4 guardians or so but not many. You need to spawn tanks that you see in the rear. Plague and ensnare science vessels to slow down their activity and kill them off with mutas and devourers. Have enough anti air to kill off any valkyries.
Against protoss, spawn the templars and ensnare everything. One of protoss' weaknesses is their slow attacking speed. Ensnaring goons give your hydras and lings a huge advantage.
Against zerg, just have a mix of hydras and lings. It is usually enough. Spawn the lurkers first or if you want to save energy, just plague and ensnare them. Guardians can take out the sunken colonies though hydras or lings will do just fine because of it's long cooldown. Have devourers and mutas to take out air units. Most importantly, make sure you ensnare everything. Since zerg attacks are very even, you have to use abilities like ensnare to tip the scales. Send in the lings if they use swarm. You can build a nydus in their base by now. Kill the hydra den and spawning pool at the first chance you get. Many people don't do this and they are forced to fight long battles until the resources exhaust.
