Queen - It's very fast but very weak. It has no armor and getting hit a few times while trying to use an ability on an enemy will probably get it killed. The overall most useful ability is ensnare. It has a low cost and great effect.

Mutalisk - When attacking with mutas, try to get a good angle. This will ensure you get all 3 hits of the spore. Mutas with a bad angle will have their spore stop dead after hitting the first target. After you kill a target, select one that has taken secondary damage so it will die faster. Secondary damage meaning a unit that got hit by the spore as a second target. Mutas work great against wraiths and scouts since they are small units and the others do explosive damage.

Devourer - People use devourers incorrectly. This has a 100 cooldown which is huge. In fact it is so huge that you are suppose to do hit an run attacks with them. When attacking cosairs, have all your devourers attack one cosair, hopefully killing it. Probably, you won't but then, you are supposed to run. If you stand there, the cosairs will hit you. The cosairs will follow you when you run but they will hit you fewer times. With practice, you will have a sense of when you turn you devourers turn around and start attacking again. They will live a lot longer doing this. Acid spores don't deal damage to a unit. If an air unit has an acid spores on it, it's cooldown will increase by 1/8 meaning it attacks slower. 9 spores will basically make them do half the damage. (The cool down increases by 111% so the damage will decrease by 55%, doing a net of 45% of original damage) Also, wraiths with acid spores can't cloak. A unit with an acid spore on it will take extra damage when hit. Each acid spore, for a maximum of 9, will add one point of damage when another unit attacks it. A carrier with 9 acid spores will take 10+9 damage from one shot from a hydra. Devourers are support units for mutas. If there are 3 units with 9 spore each on them, an unupgraded muta will do 18,12,10 to each of the units respectively. 40 damage is a lot for just one shot from an unupgraded muta. The 9 extra damage is from the acid spore, not the muta. The acided unit will take the additional damage when attack from the acid spore, not the attacking unit. Now, bring in your other ones and the damage amplifies. Try to get acid spores on as many units as possible. They splash on units that aren't yours so aim at clusters.

Defiler - This is one of the best defensive units in the game. Keep a few in your base when you attack and swarm your whole base if you get hit as a counter. Have a few zerglings around to use consume.

Ultralisk - With its massive 400 HP, this unit is practically indestructible after upgrading all armor for it. Use it as cannon fodder. Send it into ranged units first so they target it. Then, run your other units in as support so your weaker units and ultralisk will live. Make sure you upgrade speed if you plan to use even just 4 of these. This is a great unit if you have extra gas.

Crackling - Not an official unit. Nickname crackling because it is a zergling on crack. These are the lings with upgraded speed and melee. These guys are unfairly strong. Upgrading melee gives zerglings a 6 cooldown. Goons have 30. This means zerglings can hit a goon 6 times before the goon will hit it a second time. A zergling doing 8 damage will do 48 if they attacked the same speed as goons. The only difference is you get 2 for 50 minerals. Run about 60 into a bases that isn't heavily defended in the front and these lings can take out a whole base in less than 30 secs. These are extremly dangerous except it has no range. That is the only weakness. Air units can't kill them fast enough. There's just too many. You can keep building more very quickly since they cost so little. The only way to counter these are to tightly pact a bunch of ranged units protecting a choke. Otherwise, these guys just surround and destroy.
