Your life
is a precious, valuable vessel made for the Glory of God. Jesus said He would build His
Kingdom inside this vessel (the heart). However, because of a sin nature the vessel has
been distorted. It must be crushed and remolded in the potter's hands. The process is
painful, but the end result is a vessel of honor that He has chosen to pour His Spirit in
and through.
Are you willing to be broken for the Master Potter?
1. If the answer is yes, let's first look at Deuteronomy 28 and choose life.
Now that you have chosen life, the will of the Father, we must put aside the old way
of thinking and put on the mind of Christ. He said, if you want to find your life you must
loose it. If you want to live, you must die. So let's die to the desire to protect
ourselves and allow God to break the alabaster bottle of our heart. Let's pour out the
precious life inside. I know that everything in us tells us not to, but there is a way
that seems right to us. But the end of it is death. Praise God the way of the cross is
life.
2. Let us decide now to allow the Holy Spirit to crush us.
It is important to understand that during this process it is natural to want to stop,
quit, hide, fear... This is normal. At anytime you can stop. We will not force anyone to
continue. However, we will encourage you that the old way of keeping the past inside does
not and has not worked for you or anyone else - for if our way worked, we would not be
here.
3. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
It is okay to feel. You have freedom to feel any feeling at any time. you will not be
judged or condemned for your expression of feelings. We will encourage you to speak out
what you feel, and help you when you need it. This does not mean you have the freedom to
abuse anyone or anything. You might feel like you are going to burst with emotion. This is
okay. You have the permission to wail, cry, yell, grieve and mourn. This is okay. It hurts
to be crushed. This is a safe place where the Spirit of God and the comfort of others will
walk you through. However, it is not a time to rescue others from their pain. This is a
time of submission to the pain.
4. Give yourself and others permission to feel pain.
