Dies Irae

The encounter with Ronald le Couronne left the Sabbat of Maiden Newton stranded in the realm of Lord Arrakon, a place equivocal to what Christians might call Hell. Here they met with London, who aided in their escape. Back in Maiden Newton, London demanded he be placed in command of the Temple, but the Sabbat chose Archbishop Fortesque over him. It was later revealed that London is an Abomination and a powerful one at that hence the Sabbat declared him an enemy. Cardinal Luis, meanwhile, promoted Fortesque to Priscus of the South-West, and Bishop Fi to Archbishop of Maiden Newton, but the Cardinal himself was subsequently by London, as a show of his strength. Fortesque was however able to subdue him and take him away for interrogation. Luis was replaced as Cardinal by Drad.

Grand Inquisitor
Anthony Livingstone arrived in the city to investigate the Armageddon Prophecy, which it seemed pertains particularly to Maiden Newton, and under his direction the Sabbat abducted Hope, a baby of extreme importance to the Prophecy. In doing so, a new enemy the Prophets revealed themselves to the Sabbat; the Prophets abducted Hope from the Sabbat, but she was duly rescued. Meanwhile Cornelius, a nemesis from Fortesques past, began to wage a war against the Sabbat after Fortesque ordered a Sabbat attack against him. One of the consequences of Cornelius wrath was the release of the genetically-engineered Hunters, relentless supernatural killers with random and often unbelievably potent powers and abilities.

A turning point occurred when the Sabbat took on the Camarilla of Dorchester, and although
Alex Taylor successfully destroyed Prince Jericho his own sire the city was not recaptured. Then, with information provided by a renegade Hunter, the Sabbat infiltrated the Quicksilver building, resulting in the total destruction of the Hunters, and a showdown with Cornelius, leading to the expulsion of his alter ego, Sebastian Ford, as CEO of the corporation.

With orders and permission from the Regent, Livingstone reorganised the Temple hierarchy.
Paige, Tomsk and Jemma became Bishops, Semper Fi was promoted to Priscus of the South-West of England, while Sir Daniel Fortesque was stripped of all Status and relegated to being a mere Packmate, for his numerous crimes and breaches of the Code of Milan. Livingstone himself took on the role of Archbishop in what was to be a temporary position until the current threats to the city pass, after which one of the Bishops would be promoted. Meanwhile Toby, a Tremere turncoat passing himself off as clanless, was seduced by power and first betrayed Fortesque to his nemesis, Cornelius, and then, believing his fate was now already decided once Fortesque was freed, turned to infernal means. Performing a dark ritual, Toby severely weakened Livingstone, and then, with co-conspirator Iain McLeod, tried to assassinate the Grand Inquisitor. The effort failed, and both traitors were destroyed. The damage was done, however, and the following week, Livingstone was in no fit state to defend himself against powerful enemies. He was murdered by London, who had recently escaped his captivity in the Languedoc.

In the wake of his destruction, the Regent herself visited the city, proclaiming that there be no Archbishop of the city, and that instead Paige, Tomsk, Jemma and
Zy who had, during Tomsks recent sojourn to Russia, usurped his position rule equally as a Council of Bishops. This would however serve only to create more internal strife as the four Bishops, Zy and Tomsk in particular, each began vying to increase their own power. New developments on the matter of the Armageddon Prophecy presented themselves when the Cainites of the Temple were temporarily transported into a possible future, where the prophecy had been fulfilled. In this alternate universe, the Sabbat learned the identities of the Cardinals of Humanity, and the exact details of
how the prophecy would come to pass. More developments in favour of the Sabbat occurred when Gynander, of the Black Hand, arrived in the city, with knowledge of a ritual that, once performed successfully, would ensure Hopes safety from all harm both mundane and supernatural until she comes of age.

Things were not to stay so bright however. Following an encounter with London,
Osiris, one of the Cardinals of Humanity, was faced with the choice of either his own Final Death, or that of Bishop Jemma. His self-sacrifice was noble, but unfortunately also damning, for without him, the prophecy regarding the Cardinals of Humanity became useless. However, upon meeting with Sahjhan, a Garou Legend Points had met in the future, it was decided that the Legend, a renowned strategist and war veteran, lead the Cainites into a new Alliance, with other supernaturals, against the threat of Lord Arrakon and London. This, however, enraged Cardinal Drad, and the citys Sabbat population was excommunicated from the Sabbat en masse. Still, under the orders of Sahjhan, a number of the Cainites, including Bishops Paige, Zy and Tomsk, traversed the Hell-like realm of Lord Arrakon, retrieving the only original and intact copy of the Blood Chronicles the book in which the Armageddon Prophecy was first recorded but unfortunately finding that they are mystically encrypted somehow, and therefore illegible. Still, with the leadership of Sahjhan, the Blood Chronicles in their possession, and allies flocking from all directions, the Alliance looked set to be about to give Arrakon a run for his money. But since when were things ever that simple?

The Alliance's first target under Sahjhan's generalship were the Prophets, and so they soon came to blows with
Indrid Cold again, who was defeated relatively easily. With his Final Death, the remaining Prophets scattered and fled the city. Sahjhan decided that next the Alliance would have to seek and at long last destroy the bane of all their lives, London. Using information gleaned from the Blood Chronicles, the Alliance was able to sever the connection between Lord Arrakon and London, thereby weakoning London somewhat; the Abomination was then finally destroyed by Tomsk and Jemma. Things were going well.

But then they went back to bad. Cardinal Drad, through his agent, Gynander, offered the Alliance a non-inteference treaty with the Sabbat. This meant that the Sabbat were effectively washing their hands of Maiden Newton, and the Cainits within, and would therefore not assist in any endeavour made by the Alliance against Lord Arrakon - who Cornelius was by now also working for, Making matters worse,
Bella-in-Pax, a recent addition to the Alliance, was murdered, and the blame put firmly on Tomsk, even though there was no evidence of such. Added to this, Zy went missing, and Points aka Quentin Lewis left the Alliance.

And then things went from bad to far, far worse. Hope was transformed into
The Beast, and went on a rampaging frenzy throughout the city, causing havoc, death and destruction wherever she went. The Alliance tracked The Beast down, but only after it had killed Sahjhan and used his innards to decorate the interior of the Keep. Guile, however, killed The Beast after it had already been incapicated, and therefore fulfilled the Armageddon Prophecy's final portent. With time running out before Lord Arrakon arrived in their realm, the Alliance had little choice but to take the battle to him, facing him in three seperate realms. The battle cost the Alliance the lives of Paige, Fortesque, Jemma, Rakh, Faye the Fairy, Zy and Guile, and Jake Bullet, who has vanished and has not been seen since. For all this, however, Lord Arrakon was indeed destroyed, and the Armageddon Prophecy was averted, and Humanity saved. The apocalyptic proceedings of the previous nine months were finally brought to a conclusion.
