Thus far, these portents are rapidly coming to pass as the months go on, since the first: the Fall of an Elder has been interpreted as the destruction of Ronald le Couronne. Shortly afterwards, the Fire in the Heavens occurred as the recent explosion resulting in the total loss of NASA's International Space Station, the Formation of a Truce was the uneasy alliance between the Lupines and Sabbat of Maiden Newton, the Bereavement of Ten and Three became the deaths of ten schoolchildren, two teachers and the driver in a bus accident, and the Birth of the Moon was clearly the birth of baby Hope, who is now under the care of Bishop Jemma. The Black Day occurred in March 2003, with an unprecedented solar eclipse that lasted most of the day, while a week later a new statue of Thomas Hardye was unveiled in the city of Dorchester - the Elevation of a Poet. Sir Daniel Fortesque's demotion from Priscus to Packmate at the hands of Grand Inquisitor Anthony Livingstone could be interpreted as being the Eviction of a Monarch. If these (rather tenuous) links to the above prophecy are to be believed, it would seem that some of the portents are worldwide events, while others are localised to the city of Maiden Newton, beneath which lies the gates to Lord Arrakon's realm of Hell. Regardless, the Abomination servitor of Lord Arrakon, London, has returned to the city of Maiden Newton, and is now apparently seeking to hasten the fulfilment of the prophecy. He may however be somewhat hindered in this now, as the Toreador antitribu, Gynander of the Black Hand, was able to successfully, with the assistance of the Maiden Newton Sabbat, perform a ritual that guarantees Hope's safety from all harm until she comes of age - which will not happen for another seventeen and a half years. That was the theory, anyway. In fact, Hope had all along been a ticking time bomb, as her birthmark was waxing into a full moon. When it eventually did, Hope was transformed into The Beast, a destructive, malignant entity, which was subsequently hunted down and killed by the Alliance of Maiden Newton. In doing so, however, Hope too was killed, and therefore the Armagedoon Prophecy was finally fulfilled. The Alliance had to therefore act quickly, and set about on the extremely difficult task of destroying Lord Arrakon before he arrived in their world, and destroyed all of Humanity. Killing Lord Arrakon involved destroying his manifestations within the Ki'Nae realm, the Deep Umbra and the physical world, all at precisely the same instant. The task was ultimately successful, but costly; it claimed the lives of Sir Daniel Fortesque, Jemma, Paige 189, Guile, Rakh, Zy and Faye the Fairy. |
