Jemma
(Helenour)
< ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->
Lasombra, formerly a Harbinger of Skulls. Originally hailing from the Middle Ages, Jemma Embraced as a seven-year old child has survived through the ages to become a renowned expert of the Occult. Her appearance as a walking toddler with the visage of a rotting corpse earned her both fear and respect among her peers. Of course, the other reason for being feared and respected is her phenomenal strength; she far exceeds the might of even a hefty Brujah thug. Meeting the axe-wielding super-strong child on a dark night is certainly an experience that most would not forget or survive. Still, the Lasombra considers herself to be simply special, and to have a virtuous purpose in unlife she is a devout follower of the Path of Heaven, and has been for eight centuries.

In recent times in the city of Maiden Newton, Jemma challenged
Bishop Fred to Monamacy and won, and has thus now taken his place as Bishop, alongside Paige 189. However, this has recently come into jeapordy, since, after a brief encounter with the mummy Cornelius, Jemma was turned into a mortal, and deposed as Bishop by Grand Inquisitor Anthony Livingstone. Left in the hands of Archbishop Fi, Jemma was later Embraced (again) by the Archbishop, joining the ranks of the Lasombra clan. A week after being deposed, Fi re-ordained Jemma as Bishop, deposing (in turn) Bishop 189, so that Jemma could take 189's place.

Despite her re-Embrace, the blood within Jemma is still that of an elder, and was recently used by
Jim Turner in an attempt to open the Black Gates into Lord Arrakon's realm. The effort succeeded, but the Gates were sealed before any real damage could be done, and Jemma survived the ordeal.

In the wake of the destruction of Livingstone at the hands of the demonic
London, it was resolved that there be no Archbishop of the city, and that Jemma rule equally alongside fellow Bishops Paige, Tomsk and Zy, as a
Jemma resented the opinion that she has an axe to grind
joint Council. After the formation of the Alliance of Maiden Newton, Jemma was placed into the Warriors'cell.

Jemma certainly proved her might and worth when the time for the final showdown against London came about, for although it took almost the entire Alliance to take him down, it was Jemma and Tomsk who ultimately destroyed the Abomination infernalist.

Soon afterwards, Jemma courageously led a group from the Alliance into the KiNae realm, for their part in the final stand against Lord Arrakon. When finally they met their arch-nemesis, Jemma was the first to fall against his might. However, before she was destroyed by the dark god, she was first transformed back into her original Cainite visage. Jemma died as a Cappodocian.

Inside Information:
Jemma was originally a character from the tabletop Dark Ages chronicles, and Helenour was allowed by the Storytellers to bring this character her favourite to the live game, as a reward for being the only Masquerade Veteran (Jonathan, Richard, Edward and Helenour) to not be a Storyteller at the time. Jemmas claim to fame in the Dark Ages was, for a time, being the Antichrist. Best not to ask about that, really.
