| Kiasyd. Anthony Livingstone is the Grand Inquisitor of the Sabbat a little-known position, but widely feared as a myth or horror story. For in matters of treachery, treason and Sabbat law, Livingstone has the highest authority within the sect bar the Regent herself. He travels across the globe, dealing with disputes, rooting out traitors, and meting out the required justice. Livingstone has served in the position of Grand Inquisitor for almost six centuries. Therefore, it came as great embarrassment and indignity to hear that his sole childe, Shane Orton who was himself working his way up in the ranks of the Sabbat, having become Bishop of Maiden Newton was mixed up in a treasonous plot against the Sabbat of that city, and was himself being accused as the main perpetrator. Disowning his childe which meant little to Orton, who desired to acquire power and influence on his own, and had not ever even told anyone of his sires identity Livingstone had Cardinal Luis (who was in fact a close personal friend of both Orton and Livingstone) informed of the treachery within the Maiden Newton Temple, and left him to deal with it. Of course, it soon came to light that Orton was innocent despite the news coming too late, as Orton had been executed for treason and Livingstone plunged into a fit of depression and shame. For about an hour or so. Then he regained his faculties, and returned to serving within his position of power and respect. But he never forgot what had been allowed to transpire in the city of Maiden Newton. Four months later, Cardinal Luis was murdered in his lavish and highly secure haven and seat of power in the Languedoc. The incident had occurred just four nights after the Cardinal had visited Maiden Newton, to ordain Sir Daniel Fortesque as Priscus of the South-West of England. Livingstone was summoned by the Regent and charged with investigating the Luis murder. His investigation has, inevitably, now led to Maiden Newton, the city in which Livingstones only childe was wrongly accused of the worst crime, and executed based on his conviction. Anthony Livingstone is a professional, and never allows his personal opinions or feelings interfere with his duty as Grand Inquisitor. But it is not only the Cardinals death that he will be investigating while in Maiden Newton. Livingstone's intentions are becoming clearer with each night, and no more greatly so than in the Temple meeting following Bishop Jemma's 'transformation', courtesy of the mummy Cornelius. Livingstone wasted no time in deposing Jemma and returning Orton, who, not destroyed as thought, had returned to the city shortly after Livingstone arrived, to the position of Bishop, while taking every opportunity to slate Fortesque, in front of the Temple and Archbishop Fi, while the Priscus was not present. If nothing else, it is now clear to all that Livingstone does not particularly like his childe's former rival. That said, however, Livingstone still puts Sabbat loyalty first, and despite his grievances with Fortesque, he stepped in and disproved a conspired plot to frame Fortesque as a Camarilla traitor, when he could just have |

| easily let the Priscus perish as Livingstone's own childe apparently did. Therefore, things no longer seem as clear-cut to anyone who would label Livingstone as merely wanting Fortesque destroyed. More worryingly for Livingstone, however, is that Orton - childe of a prestigious Grand Inquisitor - has once again been implicated in treasonous charges, this time the plot to frame Fortesque. It was later revealed by Tomsk that Orton was in fact another Kiasyd, Mr Pin, masquerading as the deceased former Bishop. For this heinous crime, Livingstone offered Pin three choices: exile from the country, death at the hands of the Sabbat, or incarceration by the Black Hand. Pin decided to leave the country. Livingstone has now taken the role of Archbishop of Maiden Newton, after his restructuring of the Temple hierarchy, and plans to bring order to the chaos of the city. His assertation of power has brought a marked improvement in Sabbat affairs; under his leadership the Society of Leopold and its demonic leader, Uriel, have both been despatched, as has Sir Daniel Fortesque's nemesis, Cornelius. However, Livingstone has a lot of enemies both externally and within the ranks of the Sabbat, as proved recently with the attack against him made by the Dohul ghouls, loyal to Fortesque - who denied any involvement on the attack. The Dohuls, however, seem to have sparked off a new trend. Just one week later, the traitors Iain McLeod and Toby made their move, with the aid of the Grand Inquisitor's shadowy nemesis, Mr Pin and his own vampire-hunting lackeys. Livingstone again survived the attack, despite being previously weakoned in a demonic ritual at the hands of Toby. The traitors were slain, and with the Tremere ward around the city down, Livingstone warned that from that point on, anyone who even displays the slightest hint of betrayal will be destroyed immediately. Having been weakened by Tobys curse, and a ritual to expel the effects of the same curse from Bishop Zy, Livingstone was in little position to defend himself any longer, particularly from enemies of great power. The Abomination London, having escaped the Languedoc, was thus able to dupe the Grand Inquisitor with the visage of his dead childe, Shane Orton, which resulted in the Kiasyd meeting Final Death at the blade of his own sword. Livingstone will be remembered as a true soldier of the Sabbat, but one cannot help wondering who will be powerful to defeat the creature that was able to destroy such a prominent Cainite. |
