Shane Orton
(Jonathan, later Tom)
< ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->
Orton paused in contemplation of whether he had eaten too much Brie...
Kiasyd. Shane, a dedicated soldier of the Sabbat, was a power-hungry politician and avid Noddist Scholar, boasting a grand collection of genuine fragments from the Book of Nod. His philosophy was to fight the enemies of the Sabbat with tactics and strategy rather than open warfare.

Arriving in Maiden Newton shortly after the Sabbat took control of the city, Orton won a Monamacy for the Bishopric by having his ghouled rat - a simple pet of his - bite his opponent in the cheek, thus drawing first blood. Alongside fellow Bishop,
Sir Daniel Fortesque, Orton organised the Palla Grande festival for the Sabbat of the city - an event which climaxed with the murder of Archbishop Steve Bradbury. In the wake of this event, the two Bishops agreed to rule jointly over the city for a trial period, rather than just one or the other becoming Archbishop. However, both immediately set about plotting against each other in secret, all the while being unwittingly manipulated by the Paladin, Louisa Finn. It soon became apparent that there was a traitor within the Temple, and the evidence - albeit false - was soon stacked up against Orton. Finally, the Bishop was abducted by Camarilla agents, was semi-lobotimised, and then returned to the Temple. His insanity mistaken for treachery, Orton stood trial and was convicted of treason against the Sabbat. His punishment was Final Death at the hands of the Temple members. It was later revealed by Cardinal Luis that Orton was innocent - of those charges, at least - and the real traitor,  Finn, was destroyed.

Four Months Later...
In a bizarre twist, Shane Orton has returned to the Temple in which he was apparently destroyed. His agenda is unknown, but he does not seem pleased that his rival, Fortesque, is now Priscus, while Orton is no longer even Bishop. Making this turn of events even more disconcerting is that Orton returned only a week after his estranged sire,
Anthony Livingstone, also arrived in the city. Livingstone has since restored Orton to the position of Bishop, following the strange fate of Bishop Jemma. However, Bishop Orton
has been missing for several weeks now, and there is no word or sign of where he is or what has happened to him, and since Livingstone's dissappearance as well, suspicions are rapidly arising.

The truth was finally revealed some two and a half months after Orton's return, when his pawn, Tomsk Lesteran, broke free of the Bishop's control, and had Orton brought to justice. For this Orton was not in fact the real Orton, who has met Final Death some six months ago, but a Kiasyd bearing an uncanny resemblance, and going by the name of Mr Pin - a shadowy figure in the world of organised crime that until now was always considered a myth. Using Thaumaturgy and other means,
Archbishop Semper Fi and Priest Anne Lock were able toi verify that indeed, Pin was not the real Shane Orton. Pin was taken into custody for treason against the Sabbat, and is now being 'dealt with' by Priscus Fortesque, privately...

It is unknown as to whether Livingstone, still missing and unhead from, was involved in, or oblivious to, this devilish scheme.

Inside Information: Although played by two different actors, both representations of Shane Orton were identical in-game. The storyline of Orton's 'return', as the manipulative Mr Pin, was contrived by both Tom and Jon, and made for an interesting and intrigue-based plot that fooled the entire Temple, both in and out of character.
